This is a site where we share inspirational stories of people and communities, who work with Samraksha, for effectively combating HIV/AIDS in Karnataka, India.

Samraksha has been working with communities in North Karnataka to prevent HIV transmission and reduce the impact of HIV on people affected by it.  All the work is rooted in a firm beleif that communities have the potential to themselves make an effective response to the HIV issue.

Through the years the people we work with have continuously reaffirmed this beleif. Whether they are themselves people living with HIV or affected by HIV, or women in sex work or sexual minorities or just people from the general communities, what they demonstrate is courage, compassion and a commitment to make a difference to their people.
